Chinese Dragons

When learning about Chinese New Year last week, the children were really interested in dragons. Therefore we decided that this would be our focus for the week. We have been having lots of fun building dragons using a variety of resources. The children were able to describe the shapes and size of the objects they were using. Eve was able to tell us “he has round eyes, this is the mouth its long” Charlie even named his dragon “He's called dragon Beast”

We have also been learning some dragon dancing. We used musical instruments and danced to some Chinese music, while pretending to be dragons. Joey told us “these dragons don't breathe fire, they friendly” After practising our dragon dance in our groups, we performed our dance in the gym for Mrs Thompson with our very own dragon costume. It was lots of fun!

This week in nursery we had a lovely treat watching the pantomime Beauty and the Beast at the primary school. The children were so brave while watching the show and showed great listening and attention. Thank you for coming, we hope you all enjoyed it too!

Our little rays of sunshine this week are Brax Close for settling much better in nursery. There are no longer any tears and Brax is much more confident to join in with activities. Keep up the great work Brax! Finlay Craggs for coming in to nursery with no tears. Finlay has also started to use the toilet and has gained a little more confidence within nursery. Kobe Egglestone as he was so excited to tell us all about the adventures that he and Bella Bear got up to. Kaden Bestford for learning our dragon song so quickly. You are brilliant at learning new songs and rhymes and finally Grace Tate for embracing the cold weather and venturing outdoors to continue her learning. What amazing work everyone!
