- About Us
This week in Year 4 we recapped on the children's knowledge of Roman numerals from Year 3 and investigated the numerals up to 100. We discussed the different letters that are used and how we can represent more complicated numbers. We began by using strips of paper to physically make the various letters, challenging our friends to see if they could read them.
We then moved on to matching numbers to the corresponding Roman numerals both in groups and individually.
From there we then represented the value of the Roman numerals with cubes. Once we were more confident, we represented the values pictorially using tens and ones. Next we will concentrate on problem solving and reasoning using Roman numerals.
