Year 1

This week Year 1 set off on a walk into town to explore our local surroundings. As we walked, we spotted all the landmarks that we had learnt about in class such as the cenotaph, the bank and the library. We talked about what the buildings might look like from an aerial view and how we could replicate this on a map.

We followed a map which we had already plotted out previous to our trip and loved being able to keep to the route we had suggested. Once we arrived at the green, outside the library, we got our sketching pencils out and made observational drawings of the buildings that we could see. We will be using our drawings back at school to start making junk models of our town, Crook. We'll keep you posted!
