It's Been a Frosty Week!

With a great start to our brand new topic, we have thoroughly enjoyed getting stuck in with everything frosty. In maths, we have been learning about length and height. We have been measuring objects around us using special words like tall, short and long. However, something suspicious caught our eye. In our outside area, a rather peculiar nest has appeared with some eggs! We are still trying to find out what the eggs are for but we think they might be penguin eggs so we have been measuring the length of them and found that they are roughly 4 cubes long. What can it be?

From a penguins egg to a newborn penguin, we have been getting crafty. We have created our very own penguins - some are fluffy like Mumbles and some have been created using paper collages to make rather handsome, waddling penguins. They have found their new home amongst Penguin Rock.

As if by magic our Monday got off to a glimmering start as the skies opened and a flurry of snow came falling down. In reaction to this we thought, what better thing to teach than snow! We got our big coats on and wrapped up warm to meet our new Reception resident, the snowman (names are welcome).
