Game Day 2 for Crook

Published on Thursday 1 February 2018 by Mr Storey.

Last night we faced a very strong St Cuthberts football team in a local derby. With their new kits on Crook were raring to go and they put up a great fight. With some superb defending from Lucas and Matthew Crook limited their opponents to very few chances. It wasn't until a deflected ball fell at the feet of a St Cuthberts player who was able to squeeze it in. Our captain Zack was showing some very silky skills and was going past players every time he got the ball trying to force an equaliser.

Crook continued to persevere and ran themselves into the ground as the game went on. We created a few chances but were unable to really trouble the goalkeeper. St Cuthberts were able to extend their lead in the second half when they worked the ball around the Crook defence to smash home. Taylor Nixon in goal made some great stops and showed great handling skills.

It was a spirited performance and well done to all. A big thank you to the parents who were there to support again in freezing conditions!

Our next fixture is on Wednesday 7th March where we have two games.
