Celebrating Chinese New Year!

This week we have had lots of fun celebrating Chinese New Year. We have worn Chinese clothes, built dragons, made Chinese lanterns and done some dragon dancing. We also learnt the phrase “ni hao” and practised writing some Chinese numbers.

The best part about celebrating Chinese New Year was tasting some delicious Chinese food. We were very pleased that everybody had a taste and lots of the children cleared their plates!

Our little rays of sunshine this week are Joseph Berry for settling so well into the routines of nursery life. I was very impressed with how confident you have been and how quickly you have settled in. Amazing work Joseph! Toby has been chosen as one of our little rays of sunshine this week for his enthusiasm about celebrating Chinese New Year. He used shapes to make a dragon and could name many of them. He told me “this one looks like a moon or a blue banana” Well done Toby! Finlay Craggs for his brilliant creativity and imagination. We all loved your model which you named the “Finlay vampire robot of doom” Holly Symcox has been chosen as one of our little rays of sunshine this week for joining in with various Chinese New year activities. She especially enjoyed tasting some Chinese food, in fact she ate everything on her plate! And finally Logan Hall for showing brilliant concentration when making his Chinese lantern. Logan your cutting technique is developing and I am so proud of you for trying so hard to make this amazing lantern!
