Year 5 Shakespeare Stars

Published on Friday 11 March 2016 by Mrs Gentles.

Crook Primary is excited to announce that some of our Year 5 children will perform at King James 1 Academy in their wonderful new theatre on Tuesday 15th March 2016 at 1.30pm. Miss Vaughan's class have been working hard on their Shakespeare since September to produce a performance of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream,' and will share the stage with pupils from 10 other primary and secondary schools. This is a special year as we commemorate the 400th year of Shakespeare's death with the Royal Shakespeare Company's 'Play for the Nation.' The RSC have provided excellent training for teachers from all schools in our cluster and we'd like to say a big thank you to them for their support. We've also been working with Newcastle Theatre Royal who is our new special theatre partner....thank you to them too.

The tickets have been collected, the programmes are ready and costumes and scenery are prepared, so we can't wait for the big day. We are delighted that members of The Royal Shakespeare Company will be there to celebrate the event with us. We'll update you soon with photos and reviews.
