Emergency! Emergency!

We have continued to talk about people that help us and were lucky enough to have a visit from a paramedic. He even brought along his ambulance for us to look inside. The children were great when listening to the paramedic and were keen to ask him questions to learn more about his role. Matthew asked “Why do you help people?” and Jorja asked “Do you like being a paramedic?” The children used the ramp to get inside the ambulance and some of us had our heartbeats monitored on the special computer. The best part was when he turned on the flashing lights.

Emergency! Emergency! Emergency! Emergency!

We also talked about the role of a firefighter and doctor. The children have loved role playing different scenarios, especially being doctors and nurses in our very own doctor's surgery. The children have enjoyed learning the names of the different pieces of equipment and have used them correctly to make their friends better.

Emergency! Emergency! Emergency! Emergency!

Our little rays of sunshine this week are Ruby Cleary for being more confident when playing with other children. It is lovely to see you talking more to your friends and inviting others to play with you. Ryan Newton for joining in with his friends outside. He also impressed staff with how well he listened to the paramedic as he was able to recall some facts at the end of the day. Harry Gibson for completing some number problems. He was able to find the total number of bears by adding groups together. Charlie Miller for her increasing confidence in nursery and willingness to explore the different areas inside and out and Skye O'Prey for becoming more independent in nursery and for being so intrigued by the frogspawn turning into tadpoles. Brilliant work everyone!
