We're Going on a Safari!

Throughout our topic, 'The Lion King', we have been very busy learning about things to do with Africa. This week we have been focusing our attention on African animals and, in particular, the 'Big Five'. We have learned lots of new facts about the animals and we then went on a safari around school to see what animals we could find. We found a buffalo, a rhino and a lion. We couldn't find the leopard or the elephant so we think they must have been hiding. Whilst on our safari we bumped into Mrs Lupton who taught us how to say 'have a good journey' in Swahili, this was 'Safari njema!' We really did feel like we were on a safari after this.

Throughout the rest of the week we have been getting very creative in the different areas. We have been singing along to some of our favourite nursery rhymes with the puppets...

Whilst also creating our very own musical instruments outside! Look at Joshua with the drum he made independently with anything and everything that he could find outside.
