Fire Starter

Published on Thursday 22 February 2018 by Miss Greaves.

This week we introduced the children to their new topic 'The Great Fire of London'. The children had an outdoor adventure lesson with Mr Askew on Monday and talked about how fires start, but most importantly how to be safe around fires. We all got to have a go at starting a fire on a cotton pad with a flint and steel, some of us even managed to set it alight. Then we got to roast marshmallows round the fire, it was great fun! Over the next few weeks we will be learning more about the Great Fire of London so make sure you ask your children what they've been learning! Next Wednesday afternoon we will be visiting the fire station so please make sure your child is dressed appropriately. A letter with more information about this will be sent out soon.
