Bonfire Night!

Published on Friday 8 November 2019 by Mrs Fox.

To celebrate Bonfire night we had our very own bonfire in the nursery garden. We each got a turn to toast marshmallows and enjoyed some hot chocolate to keep us nice and warm.

We also had a special visit from the local firefighters who talked to us about fire safety. We learnt to stop, drop and roll and talked about how to stay safe on Bonfire night. The best part was spraying the fireman's hose!

Our little rays of sunshine this week are Jiaxin Yang for making an amazing firework rocket using a range of 2D shapes. She was even able to name all of the shapes that she had used. Great shape work Jiaxin! Lennon Dent for getting himself ready to go outside. He independently put on his trousers, wellies and coat and only needed a little support to zip up his coat. Well done Lennon! Lucas-James Norman for listening to our fire pit rules. He carefully walked and sat on the benches and patiently waited for his turn to toast his marshmallow. What a sensible boy Lucas! Amelia Bowes for practising very hard when writing her name. She is now able to write it independently and does not need to copy from her name card. Fantastic writing Amelia! And finally Austin Egglestone for having a brilliant week in nursery. He listened carefully to the fire pit rules and was very sensible when toasting his marshmallow. He is also trying very hard with his toileting and now sits on the toilet. I am very proud of you Austin!
