- About Us
We have loved watching our chicks grow and have taken such good care of them all week. We have been very gentle when handling the chicks and made sure that they had lots of food, water and that their house was clean. We will miss the chicks when they leave tomorrow, but I am sure they will have a lovely time in their new home!
This week we also learnt about where food comes from and had to decide if it came from an animal, the ground or grew on a tree. We then got the chance to taste some of the items of food that may come from the farm and decided if we liked or disliked it and gave our reasons why.
Our little rays of sunshine this week are Amelia Westwood for doing a brilliant job naming the sounds that the chick was stood on. She even remembered the jolly phonics action to go with each sound. Amazing phonics Amelia! Danielle Slack for her brilliant number work. She was able to confidently compare quantities, telling me which nest had more eggs. Great work Danielle! Alfie Lawson for enjoying the food tasting and happily trying everything. He then made up his own mind about which items of food he liked and disliked. Well done Alfie! Lennon Dent for blowing my socks off when he pointed to the shoe box and told me “zero” I asked why it was zero and he told me “cause no shoes in” Wow Lennon what amazing maths work! And finally Arthur Hendry for remembering all of the sounds we have learnt so far. What impressed me the most was when Arthur was outside he was able to find things in the garden starting with those initial sounds telling me “t for tree, s for stone, n for nut” It is lovely to see you taking such an interest in your sounds!
