The last few weeks

We would just like to thank you for making appointments for parents evening. It was lovely to be able to talk to you about the progress that the children have made this year.

Sports day will take place on Wednesday 14th July. Unfortunately, there are no spectators due to COVID, but we will be taking lots of pictures and posting on the website. Please ensure your child has a PE kit for the day.

Instead of completing Commando Joe's lessons, we have been focusing on teaching the children core skills of PE such as throwing and catching through the game of rounders. The children have thoroughly enjoyed learning how to play a new sport and have shown good communication and teamwork skills. At this time, 2N remain victorious!

We have been linking the song Ring a Roses to the Great Plague for topic, the children really enjoyed the meaning of the song and have been taught about pitch and tempo. They have then used this new knowledge to play Ring a Roses on the glockenspiel.

In English, we have been looking at poetry, the children independently found rhyming words and have learned and performed a variety of poems. We then went on a walk around school looking for signs of summer then wrote a poem using our vocabulary.
