- About Us
This week we have been learning all about worms and we have even made our own wormery in Nursery. The children were very eager to help build the wormery then find worms to go in it.
Our story of the week was 'Superworm' which the children enjoyed joining in with the repetitive phrases. We also played a game of hide the worm and the children had to tell us where it was hiding using positional language. Also, as the children found many worms we looked at length and how long or short they were.
Our little rays of sunshine this week are Hunter Manson for having a super first week and settling into our nursery routine so well. Madison O'Prey as she showed a great interest this week in learning about worms and the wormery. She said “make a hole so they can breathe, when it is sunny put the cover over the wormery and when it is night time take it off”. Carter Howe as he thoroughly enjoyed our worm hunt. He was such a kind friend as when one of our friends struggled to find a worm, Carter found one for them so they could put it in the wormery. What a kind friend! Freddie Breward as he did a fantastic job of playing hide and seek with the worm. He was able to hide the worm in, on, under and in between. Freddie was also able to explain where the worm was hiding using positional language. Finally, Charlotte Kirkbride for showing a great understanding of the differences between long and short. Charlotte made an example using the blocks and she was even able to tell me why one was longer “because there is more on this one”. Well done to you all, what superstars!
We will be doing sports day for the children but unfortunately no parents will be invited to attend. Morning Children will be taking part on Friday 9th July and afternoon children will be taking part on Monday 12th July. Mrs Blackett's 30-hour children will be taking part in both. Please can you ensure the children come in joggers/leggings and trainers on these days.
