- About Us
Our story this week has been 'Whatever Next' and the children have really enjoyed acting out and retelling the story in their own words using the props from the story for support.
Lots of discussions have also been takinf place about if we were going to the moon what we would take and why? The children came up with some great ideas!
We have also been learning about positional language and we used the bear from the story and our pretend rocket (a box). The children had 2 roles; they had to listen carefully to where the adult said to put the bear e.g. in the box, under the box, on top of the box then the adult put the bear somewhere and the children had to use this language to explain to us where the bear was. What fun we had!
Our little rays of sunshine this week are Sadie Simpson for trying very hard with our game of hide and seek with the bear using positional language. Ezmay Denham for retelling the story of the week 'Whatever Next'. She used the props to help her and used language from the story such as “He found a box in the cupboard” and “My bath must be ready”. Ruby Hirst as she was brilliant at retelling the story using the props. She started with “Once upon a time” then without the book told the story then finished with “The end”. Amelia Holmes as she had a great time at the craft table using her imagination to make a space rocket, space drink and a musical instrument. Finally, Luka McLean for retelling the story of 'Whatever Next' so well in the role play area. Well done to you all, what superstars!!
It is also children in Need today and the children looked fabulous in their spots and Pudsey t-shirts. Thank you all for making the effort!
Next week is our final week on space before we enter the Christmas festivities in Nursery……Our favourite time of year!
