In Maths we have begun to explore fractions! We have been ordering fractions using a very important rule to help us “The bigger the denominator the smaller the fraction” We also used the fraction wheels to explore making equivalent fractions.
In English we have been learning all about the features of a Non-Chronological report. We used the chrome books and Non Fiction books to help us research, plan and then write our very own Non-Chronological reports about the Amazon rainforest. I was blown away with the end results and enjoyed reading the interesting facts that the children discovered.
In Design and Technology this week, the children have completed market research in order to help them design and create their own river safety flag. We began by testing different materials and explored different river warning signs. We then created a template for our design and practised a variety of different sewing techniques such as over stitch, running stitch and back stitch. The children showed lots of resilience with the challenging skills that they had to learn!
This week we say a fond farewell to Mr Bainbridge who will be leaving us to begin a new and exciting career. We wish him all the best!
