Another week of the Farm

This week we have continued with our learning from last week. We have been learning about another 4 animals that live on the farm. We also did some comparison between animals which live on a farm and animals which live in the wild.

We sang out number song 5 Little Speckled Frogs and also matched the correct number of farm animals to the numeral. The younger children had to listen carefully to the instructions given and put the correct number of animals in the farm. The older children were tasked with doing some basic addition sums using visual clues to help.

We also played a listening game with farm animals and the children had to identify the animals they could hear.

What a lovely week it has been for the weather so of course we have enjoyed lots of time outdoors making the most of it.

Our little rays of sunshine are Ruby-Rae Vickers as she did a great job with our number songs this week. She was able to quickly recognise and tell me how many frogs were left without counting. She was able to find the correct number to represent this amount. Joe Butterworth as he is growing in confidence each week and really impressed me when he was helper. He asked if he could read the story which he had chosen to his friends at home time. Joe retold the story word for word. Rosie Winter as she has impressed me while playing the guess the farm animal sound game. When given the choice of 2 animals, Rosie selected the correct animal. Carson Jackson as he is settling well into nursery and is trying very hard to follow our routines. He has been a superstar this week using our toilet too. River-Mae Conlon as she is beginning to grow in confidence and follow our daily routines with less adult support. She is able to come to nursery and find her own name card for self-registration then sit down on our carpet ready for group time. Finally, George Gibbon as he impressed with our farm animal sound game. He recognised some tricky sounds such as goose, donkey and rooster. George also did an amazing job when sorting the animals and told me lots of facts. Well done to you all, what superstars!
