Another week of fun in nursery. We are really starting to learn the rules and routines in nursery now and are having lots of fun during group time activities. This week we have been busy singing nursery rhymes using the song box and also building some amazing models using the Duplo.
We have also been practising our motor skills by doing some scissor safety and pencil control sheets. The children have also had lots of fun in provision playing doctors and nurses and splashing in the puddles this week outside in the nursery garden.
Our little rays of sunshine this week are Erin Hodkinson for doing some fabulous singing during our song box activity. She has also started to join in with our morning hello song trying very hard to sing the words. She has settled into nursery really well and always has a smile on her face at group time. Ethel Ross as she was a superstar at giving teddy the correct number of cupcakes. Ethel was able to recognise the number 5 and give the teddy 5 cupcakes. Erin Hanmer as when she returned to nursery, she was unsure about leaving mam, but this week she has jumped into nursery with a wonderful smile. Erin has also impressed me with how confident she is with her scissor skills and is now cutting out picture. Hayden Clough for doing an excellent job at completing the jigsaws independently. He said “I did it” when he'd put all the pieces together. He has also settled into nursery really well and is doing a great job with our group activities. Oliver Russ as he really impressed while constructing with the Duplo. He told me “A bigger wolf can't blow mine down” when I asked Why? He said “because it's my house and it's strong” Finally, Carson Jackson as he has done some fantastic cutting this week. Carson was very careful and demonstrated good control when cutting around shapes. Well done to you all, what superstars!
