Our new book last week was 'Super Duper You' written by Sophy Henn'. This story has helped the children think about who they are and that they are super-duper just the way they are.
In phonics the children have now learned s, a, t and p. They are starting to tune into sounds when we are segmenting them (breaking the words up) and some children have begun to blend (put the sounds back together to say the word). It would be wonderful if you could continue to encourage your child to try and blend at home e.g “it's time for your b-a-th”
Repeating patterns have been great fun and the children have listened and watched so carefully and are enjoying making their own repeating patterns!
We had a lovely adventure on Friday as the children went for their first visit to 'Forest Garden'. They listened carefully to the rules and learnt some new songs. We read a special autumn story called 'The Leaf Thief'. The children had time to explore the garden and showed us all the beautiful autumn coloured leaves they were finding. They also made some brilliant nature faces.
We are looking forward to welcoming you all to your child's first stay and play on Friday. This is a fun afternoon to come and spend time with your child at school. See you there!
