Stay and Play and Halloween

This week we were very excited to welcome our grown ups into nursery for our first stay and play of the year. We enjoyed showing our grown ups around nursery and showing them where we learn and explore every day. We hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did!

This week we have started our Halloween activities. We have been making some silly soup in our groups and trying to find items that rhyme. We have also played a matching Halloween game to see if they could find the matching pair of Halloween objects.

We completed some Room on the Broom cosmic yoga and have also been practising our name writing.

Counting and matching has also been a job for us using spiders. The children had to roll the dice, count the number of spots then see if they can put that number of legs on the spiders. After they had 2 turns each, we also looked at which spider had more or less legs. Some children even managed to match the correct number as well.

Our little rays of sunshine this week are Miley-Rae Potts Dawson as when doing the shape puzzle another child came to join us “Your turn” as she handed some pieces of puzzle to him. What a kind friend Miley-Rae. Megan Davies as she did a great job of putting the correct number of legs on the spider, she was then able to tell me which had the most and least. AJ Griffiths as he has settled so well into nursery and is always smiling. He has also enjoyed taking part in some action songs this week, specifically 'Hop Little Bunnies'. Annie-Rose Conlon as she enjoyed joining in with cosmic Yoga this week. Finally, Nate Gilbert as he has been creating some amazing pictures but is also such a kind friend. He has drawn a fabulous picture of his friend Oliver and gave it to him. He has also come on leaps and bounds at writing his own name. Well done to you all, what superstars!
