On Monday we started the week off with a talk about what Remembrance Day is and why we celebrate it. All of the children cut out a poppy to hold during our 2-minute silence at 11am. We were very proud of the children and how quiet and respectful they were during this time.
We have also been celebrating Children in Need this week and many of our activities have been focused around Pudsey Bear. We have been learning positional language and the children had to put Pudsey in the correct place by listening to the positional language e.g. can you put Pudsey on the chair, under the chair etc. The children also had to be the teacher and ask a friend to put Pudsey somewhere using the language.
We have also been matching the numeral to quantity and choosing a number and putting the correct number of counters on Pudsey's bandana. We have also been building houses for Pudsey to go in.
The children have been asking to see the Stick insects and get them out recently so Miss Manifold got them out and the children enjoyed holding them and seeing how much they have grown. The children are very kind and caring to our stick insects and hold them very gently.
Our little rays of sunshine this week are Erin Hanmer as she did a fantastic job of hide and seek with Pudsey. She was able to tell me exactly where Pudsey was hiding using positional language. Carson Jackson as he is very creative and makes some amazing models and draws some fantastic pictures. This week he made his very own robot. He even changed his voice to sound like a robot. Sahil Sharifi for settling into nursery so well. He is no longer upset when coming in and joins in with group activities really well. Jaxon Comby as he is doing a great job at recognising his name card and spotting “my JJJ”. Chester Pearson as he loved the colour missing activity and exploring the changes. He listened carefully to what colours he needed to use to create new colours. Finally, Jaxon Gibson as he took an interest in the artificial flowers in nursery and drew a lovely picture of them, paying attention to the colours of the flowers and then choosing those colours to use on his picture. Well done to you all, what superstars!
