This week we have had lots of fun in nursery. We had stay and play on Wednesday. It was lovely to see so many grown ups coming into nursery and seeing what the children get up to and also chatting to staff and having lots of fun. The children always love showing their grown ups what to do and how to follow the rules when in nursery and it is lovely to see.
On Thursday we celebrated VE day. We all came into nursery dressed in red, white and blue and also had a picnic. After the picnic we listened to some old music and also had a dance like they used to. The children absolutely loved this and even requested to listen to the music again. We ended our celebrations with 'We'll meet again….'
Our little rays of sunshine this week are Marley Hall as he made me smile when he found a feather and came over excitedly to tell me “it's go away bird feather”. The go away bird is a story that Marley loves. Coby Dent as he independently decided to make a watch. He picked out a pipe cleaner, then drew a circle and cut around it. He then wrote the number 1 on the watch face and then we stuck it together. What a great idea! Lenny Dobson for making some lovely progress this week. He has had no tears coming into nursery and engaged in an activity of building blocks independently. He also did some great independent cutting, he is getting better at his scissor skills. Oliver Russ as he has tried so hard to be independent this week. He has even been giving his own face a wash when it is dirty. Finally, Jaxon Comby as he independently explored the paint and did his own colour mixing “I have made brown, I mixed red, orange, pink and blue”. Well done to you all, what superstars
Next week we are starting our people who help us topic and our first visitors are going to be the police who are going to come into nursery and talk to us about their role and how they help people. They are going to try and being a police car/van for us to see and also a drone. We are very excited about this!
