Welcome back!

Welcome back everyone! We hope you have all had a lovely week off and it is lovely to see you all back to nursery ready to start another half term (which is the last for some of you)

This week our focus for people who help us has been the school crossing patrol and Stranger danger. We have been lucky enough to have a visit from Claire and Jet (the police dog) who talked to us about her role, how to keep safe when crossing roads as well as we were lucky enough to stroke Jet. He enjoyed it that much he nearly fell asleep!! We were so gentle when stroking him and loved having him in nursery. We now know how to cross roads safely and that the police officers are our friends!

Welcome back!Welcome back!

We have continued learning our sound of the week which was 't' this week and also our number of the week which was 2. The children are loving being sound and number detectives and are really impressing us with these skills.

Welcome back!Welcome back!

We have enjoyed acting out the role of the school crossing patrol using the resources outside in the nursery garden. On an afternoon we have also been practising our positional language.

Our little rays of sunshines are Miley-Rae Dawson. She is enjoying our people who help us topic. This week she impressed me when talking about the school crossing patrol. She told me “road, hold hands, stop, green man”. Megan Davies as she did a great job at splat the sound. Each time I said a sound Megan was able to splat the correct sound. Stefan Norman as he really impressed me this week with his maths and phonic skills. When learning all about two correctly he said “take three off” when we had five gems and needed to make two. Then, when thinking of things that started with T he was able to think of “triangle” independently. Destiny Dodds as she has become a lot more vocal and while playing with the playdough identified “that big” and “small” when she had a big and small ball. She then did a great job of very excitedly repeating some phrases from the story 'Brown Bear Brown Bear'. Chester Pearson as he has such a love for Maths. He is thoroughly enjoying number of the week and when we go back into nursery Chester enjoys carrying on the number work in nursery provision. Finally, Carson Jackson as he has thoroughly enjoyed acting the role of the school crossing patrol. He also remembered lots of information about their role. He told me “if a car goes through the lollipop sign the police will come, I'm writing down the number, police, police”. They certainly will Carson, great job at remembering this information. Well done to you all, what superstars!

Welcome back!Welcome back!

Next week will be our final week on People who help us so we will be doing a roundup of everything we have learnt!
