When it comes to times tables, speed AND accuracy are important – the more facts your child remembers, the easier it is for them to do harder calculations. 

Times Table Rock Stars is a fun and challenging programme designed to help students master the times tables! Children will work on individualized questions based on an initial assessment.

To be a Times Table Rock Star you need to answer any multiplication fact up to 12×12 in less than 3 seconds! 

Children from year 2 onwards are expected to complete 15, 1 minute games per week for homework. 

A national multiplication check has been introduced in year 4. Children should know all times tables up to 12 x 12 by the end of year 4. Children will be taught explicit lessons in school, however teachers would appreciate help from parents in ensuring children are fluent with this as they will only have 6 seconds to answer each question! The Soundcheck game simulates this check.
