Reading Planet

Reading Planet is an online reading library with over 200 phonetically plausible reading books for non readers, emerging and new readers. Each book is colour coded to link with the stage of reading/phonics your child is at. Books can be read together, read alone or listened to through the audio button.  Simple comprehension based questions are used at the end of each book to assess the child’s understanding of the book.

Books will be allocated by your child’s teacher on a weekly basis linked to their phonics level and reading ability.  These books will appear under the ‘My books’ section.  Once a book has been read and quizzed on it will move into the ‘Books I have read section’.  It also has a ‘My Achievements’ section which awards the child with a star for every book read and quizzed.

Once your child has completed all of the stages of Reading Planet and they are assessed as being a confident young reader they will be moved on to MyOn - a higher level online reading library.
