This week we have started our first week of Christmas activities in Nursery. We started with reading some Christmas stories to get us into the festive spirit. Stick man is one of our favourites at this time of year!
We then practised some name recognition. The children had to pull a name out of a Christmas stocking or hat and see if they could identify whose name it was from their key group.
We have also been completing and creating some repeating patterns using Christmas objects.
Our Nursery is also looking amazing as we have been doing some scissor control and cutting paper chains to decorate the nursery with. The children have also been doing these during provision time too.
Just to make this week even better we have also had some snow……. and we could not let this opportunity go to waste so we all got wrapped up and went outside in the garden to make a new friend. The children had so much fun!!
Our little rays of sunshine are Elijah Hodkinson for trying hard with our pattern activity this week. Skylar Cox as she did a fantastic job at creating and extending repeating patterns this week. Lucy Leigh as she has shown a good understanding of pattern and she tries really hard to create a repeating pattern, only needing a little support. Oxley Gill for joining in with our Stick man Story. Kaleb Bowron as he has had such a good week. He has formed such a lovely bond with Miss Kitching and is now starting to get her hand to show her what he wants. Kaleb has also enjoyed looking through the Christmas Catalogue and making some marks on his Santa letter. Finally, Ivy Sanderson as she has been a superstar this week and excelled at all of our group time activities. She created her own repeating pattern and was fantastic at recognising the name cards of the friends in her group. Well done to you all, what superstars!
Next week we will be continuing with our Christmas activities and doing lots of practise of our Christmas songs ready for filming the week after.
