This week we have continued with our Christmas theme. We have played Kim's game which develops our memory skills. The children have to look carefully at the Christmas objects and then one is taken away and the children have to identify which one is gone? They are getting very good with this. We also practised our syllable marking with our Christmas objects.
We have also been recapping on our shape recognition and identifying properties of 2d shapes.
This week has also been filled with lots of art and craft as we have been making some Christmas cards and decorations to bring home at the end of term. They are looking so good…… I am sure you will all love them too!
We all looked amazing in our Christmas jumpers today too!
Our little rays of sunshine this week are Ethel Ross as she did a great job at recognising the shapes in the Christmas stocking “A triangle has 1,
3 sides”. Archie Iceton as he did a fantastic job with our Kim's game, he joined in very well and I can see his vocabulary building. Rosie Winter as she has had such a good week and tried new things at Nursery. She enjoyed sensory play in the water and even tried drinking out of a nursery cup. Cora Goundry as she was such a kind friend when we did our shape recap, she helped her friends who were unsure and shared facts about the shapes. Ada Spencer as she did such a good job with shape recognition and is beginning to talk about the properties of the shapes. Finally Mia Miller as while playing in the water she independently started experimenting with which toys floated and which toys sunk. “The seaweed is floating, the fish sinks”. Well done to you all, what superstars!
Next week is such a busy week with lots of lovely Christmas activities going on. Please read the letter that has been sent out and keep checking dojo for what is happening each day.
