Year 5 went to Kirkley Hall Zoological gardens to learn about rainforest animals and their life cycles.

The children had a great time handling animals including a tortoise, lizards and snakes! They came to face to face with the reality of nature when the tortoise decided to go to the toilet as somebody was holding it. Poor Luca will never look at a tortoise the same way again.

There were lots of different animals at the zoo. The children had fun spotting which ones could be found in the Amazon rainforest. The zookeepers were very impressed with their topical knowledge.
