Superworm!

As we start our final term, we can't wait to enjoy the amazing activities we have planned as the year draws to a close! We've continued this week with our minibeast learning, finding out about the adventures of Superworm and his special skills. The children have produced some amazing observational drawings of minibeasts and developed their knowledge of the different habitats suitable for different creatures. We briefly took a break from this learning to develop some of the childrens' own interests in weddings. Their creativity went into overdrive producing invitations designing and making paper wedding outfits and taking part in their very own wedding ceremony!

Within our story Superworm, whilst looking for treasure Superworm only found litter. We decided it would be a good idea to investigate the litter around us. The children were amazing at sorting the litter carefully placing it in the correct bin. We then designed our very own litter posters to put round school to remind everyone to put litter in the bin!

In literacy we worked on reading and writing longer words with more than one syllable. In mathematics we continued our recall of 1 more and less using knowledge of number sequencing and adding and removing objects. We ended the week exploring minibeast musical instruments and trying our tasty food treats.

Next Friday (the 13th) we will be hosting our 'Ugly Bug Ball'. The children may come to school dressed as their favourite minibeast if they choose and we will enjoy an afternoon of fun and games in the school hall!
